ARDIS
Description
Packet data network originally developed by Motorola
for IBM field service operation.  In 1987 Motorola & IBM merged their network form ARDIS. In 1998, ARDIS was purchased by American Mobile Satellite Corporation. UPS launched their latest package tracking system on ARDIS.

Mobitex
Description
Packet data cellular network developed by Ericsson providing communication between wireless data devices which may be used in wearable, mobile, or fixed applications. A Mobitex network can be configured in many different ways, from a large public network providing nationwide coverage to a small, privately owned network serving a single company or region.

Geographic Coverage
There are Mobitex
networks in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Korea, Netherlands, Sweden, United Kingdom, and the United States. Coverage of 90% of business populations in U. S. Good in-building coverage.

Data-only packet radio cellular network operating at 7kbps
