Description
Packet data network originally developed by Motorola© for IBM© field service operation.  In 1987 Motorola© & IBM© merged their network form ARDIS©. In 1998, ARDIS was purchased by American Mobile Satellite Corporation. UPS launched their latest package tracking system on ARDIS©.

Packet data cellular network developed by Ericsson© providing communication between wireless data devices which may be used in wearable, mobile, or fixed applications. A Mobitex© network can be configured in many different ways, from a large public network providing nationwide coverage to a small, privately owned network serving a single company or region.

Geographic Coverage
There are Mobitex© networks in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Korea, Netherlands, Sweden, United Kingdom, and the United States. Coverage of 90% of business populations in U. S. Good in-building coverage.
